Care & Maintenance
Our pieces are made from real natural materials wood, rattan, seagrass, metal and stone. They are not factory-finished to look perfect forever. They are made to age beautifully with the right care. Slight variations in grain, tone, and texture are not flaws. They are what make each piece yours.
Wipe regularly with a soft dry cloth. For deeper cleaning use a lightly damp cloth with mild soap, then dry immediately. Apply teak oil once or twice a year to nourish the grain and maintain its warmth. Keep away from direct sunlight, radiators, and heat sources. Over time, untreated teak develops a natural silver-grey patina — this is not damage, it is character. If you prefer to preserve the original colour, treat with a teak sealer annually. Always use coasters and placemats on surfaces to prevent water rings.
Brush away dust gently with a soft brush. Wipe with a lightly damp cloth when needed — always dry completely afterwards. Rattan and excess moisture do not mix, so never soak it or leave it in standing water. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and high humidity, which can cause brittleness or warping over time. Best suited for indoor or covered outdoor settings. To restore dry or slightly cracked rattan, apply a small amount of boiled linseed oil and wipe away the excess.
Dust regularly with a soft brush or dry cloth. Seagrass is naturally stain-resistant and does not soak up liquid easily but clean spills immediately to prevent mold forming in the fibres. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with a very mild soap solution and dry thoroughly. Keep in a well-ventilated space away from prolonged moisture. Recommended for indoor use only.
Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Dry immediately after any contact with moisture to prevent oxidation. For outdoor pieces, bring inside or cover during heavy rain. If rust spots appear, treat gently with fine steel wool and apply a light coat of protective wax afterwards.
Brush loose dust off with a soft dry cloth or use a fabric brush. For stains, blot immediately never rub, as this spreads the stain and damages the fibres. Use a mild upholstery cleaner for deeper treatment. Keep upholstered pieces away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. For velvet, always brush in the direction of the pile.
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately. Marble is porous and sensitive to acidic liquids keep coffee, wine and citrus away from the surface. Always use coasters. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Seal annually with a stone-specific sealant to protect against staining. Natural veining and variation in tone are unique to each slab.
Vacuum regularly using a brush attachment. For spills, blot immediately with a clean dry cloth. Avoid soaking the fibres with water. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear, especially in high-traffic areas or rooms with strong natural light.
Dust with a soft dry microfiber cloth, always following the direction of the grain. For stains, use a lightly damp cloth dry the surface immediately after. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners. Condition with mineral oil or teak oil every season to keep the wood nourished and resistant to humidity. Keep away from direct sunlight and drafts, which can cause fading or warping over time. No two mango wood pieces are identical the grain, tone and texture of each one is its own.
